Dr. Frances Lim

Dr. Frances Lim is a double board-certified General Surgeon and Colorectal Surgeon with extensive experience in managing a wide spectrum of colorectal and general surgical conditions. Her primary clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer, with a strong emphasis on minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgical techniques to enhance recovery and improve patient outcomes. She has held several senior leadership roles, including Senior Consultant positions at the National Cancer Institute Singapore and the Division of Colorectal Surgery at the National University Health System (NUHS). During her tenure, she performed complex colorectal procedures such as sphincter-preserving rectal cancer surgery, transanal excision for early-stage rectal cancer, and surgeries for both benign and complex anorectal conditions. She is also experienced in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as the management of functional bowel and pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Lim has played a significant role in medical education, serving as Program Director for both the General Surgery Residency and the Colorectal Surgery Fellowship Program at NUHS, where she mentored and trained future surgeons. She earned her medical degree from the University of Calgary, completed her General Surgery residency at the State University of New York, and pursued fellowship training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Washington Hospital Center.
